Strawberry season: sweet weeks at Lake Constance

1 min read

In June the fields around the lake glow deep red. We pick the strawberries ripe from the field and turn them into summer desserts.

The taste of early summer

Hardly any fruit stands for the beginning of summer as much as the strawberry. When the fields around Lake Constance glow deep red, it is clear: the sweetest time of the year has begun.

Harvested ripe, not ripened in transit

A strawberry only develops its full aroma if it is picked ripe. The delicate fruit does not travel well. That is why we rely on produce from the region that was still in the field this morning.

What we make from it

  • Classic strawberry dessert with fresh cream
  • Fruity sorbets for hot days
  • Strawberries as a fine companion to sweet dishes

Only for a short time

The local strawberry season is short and precious. It lasts only a few weeks, then it is over. Enjoy summer while it glows on the plate.
